Merry Christmas 2010

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven’t written on here in a while. You see, over the summer I went through a divorce. That sure turns your life upside down! I’m getting settled back in now, after moving in June, and again in December. What outdoor stuff is on your wish list this year? My son is getting some more camping gear. His own water bottle (he put milk in mine and didn’t tell me blah!), a water bladder and backpack, a new headlight. Should be pretty bright, has 3 leds on it. He’s also getting a new knife thanks to the brother in law.

Anyway, what’s on your list? I didn’t have it on my list but I’d like one of those portable camp stoves. Those look pretty nice. Tell me about what you wanted or received!

Exciting news! Thanks to the power of the Internet and this site tomorrow I’m heading out to the Gore-Tex headquarters! Have questions for them? Post your comments here. I’ll be touring the Gore facilities, checking out their outdoor store (I don’t think we have those around here), and going on a scavenger hunt! Sounds like great fun! I’m going to try to get some pictures and video and I’ll post them here. Please feel free to add your questions below. Thanks!

I thought this was pretty awesome as Dick’s is one of my favorite places to go. I don’t go there often though because I spend too much I’ll definitely be picking up some new camping gear when I get my gift certificate in the mail. Now I have to figure out what to get. Maybe a nice camping chair. A gas fire pit might be nice. Don’t have to worry about keeping wood and can use it at home or on the road. What are your favorite camping or outdoor items I might check out?

Speaking of places I can go (and did on vacation) every day Bass Pro Shops is another favorite to just walk around. So many guns there, huge selection of bows, ATVs. Their kids area with the laser guns are also fun to do (with my son, I’d never do that by myself ) If you are in the Cincinnati area check out Gear Up Camping & Emergency Outfitters located in Florence, KY.

November Top Droppers and Updates

Wow! It’s already December! Where did 2008 go! I must be getting old because it seems like just last week we celebrated New Years Day. An update you may notice is that my site now has a sponsor that will change occasionally. On the right and left of the blog right now you will see a Chevy image. That image will change occasionally as a new sponsor is found. Not real big news, but it is cool to me.
