Do you love going out with your family or friends for camping? Do you love playing games during your stay in the camp? Are you looking for ideas for the best camping games you can find this year?

Playing games when out for camping is one of the ways to refresh the mind and forget everything that has happened. Well, any camping experience is made much fun if you find a good game that you can play with your family or friends. Moreover, it is even more exciting if the game is enjoyable and everyone in the group playing.

After looking at how people treat themselves when camping I realized that getting a good game for the camp is a big challenge. In addition, finding a game that can be played by anyone from the kids to the adults is also a problem. I have researched and come up with some of the best games that can be played in a camp and are enjoyable.

1. Scavenger Hunt

Scavenger hunt is a very amazing camping game especially for families. The best part about this game is that it can be played by people of all ages. Players can also blend in different ages and have fun when playing the game.

The game is also very simple to play. It involves gathering (Or my preferred method: checking items off) mostly natural things since you are in a camp. These are things that are at some time difficult to find. They can be some type of flowers or leaves.

To make the game more enjoyable, you can work in groups but of different ages. For example; adults and the younger kids, the older kids and their younger siblings. Consider visiting the site some time earlier and see what can be found and consider rewarding the kids who get the targets first.

2. Catch or Don’t Catch
This is another perfect game that can keep you entertained in the camp especially for the teenagers. It is a very simple game that also involves some movement and energy which means that the player will remain alert.

It is very simple to organize, Let the players stand in a circle except one of the player who will be at the center of the circle. Then find a ball. The player at the center is supposed to throw the ball to others around the circle saying either catch or don’t catch.

In case a player is told to catch and does not catch or don’t catch and catches then he/she is out. It is a safe game and there are no risk factors attached.

3. The Obstacle Course
This is one of the most amazing and engaging camping games. The best part about this game is that it involves the physical energy which means that your kids as well as the adults participating have a chance to exercise.
All you have to do is to find some materials that will act as obstacles for the players and they have to work their way through the obstacle. There are a number of materials you can choose on your own. You can also choose what you want the players to do as they play.

Here are some ideas;

  • Hopping on just one foot
  • Crawling over (or under) a picnic table
  • Jump over cups
  • Doing jumping jacks, e.g. 10 jacks

4. Pass the Water

This is the best game you can play during the warm seasons. It is a perfect game to cool the kids during the summer days. It is also easy to play and fun.

To play this game, the players stand in a line one behind the other and facing the same direction. You are then supposed to fill cups with water to the top. Then let the first person to pour the water into another cup by lifting his/her cup above the head.

After the first person has pour the water then the second player should pour the water to another cup behind him/her and make sure they maintain as much water in the cup as possible.

5. Sing Campfire Songs

You will really enjoy this especially during the colds seasons or if you do it during the night. It is an amazing since it involves all ages. It is also entertaining to all the players.

You are supposed to sit around a fire place. Then you choose the campfire songs to sing. Mostly traditional song. You can hit the pots and drums to make the experience better.

This type of game also involves dancing. You can dance around the fire place. The players should also compete dancing where adults can compete with adults, adults and kids or kids and kids.

The game makes use of the body energy enabling the players to warm up and get flexible.

6. Group Storytelling

Group Storytelling

It is a fun game but it is played different from the normal story telling. You can sit in group around a fire place or any other place.

To play the game, one person begins a story by giving just one line that sets the scene for the story. To make the whole experience exciting, let the next person add line to continue with the story. It is a good game for both kids and the adults since it requires creativity for the player to come up with ideas to continue with the story.
