Father's Day outdoorsy Dad gift ideas

Father’s Day is just around the corner (June 16, 2013)! Are you wondering what to get your outdoorsy dad for Father’s Day? I have came up with a list of ideas and things I like.

  • Beef jerky! What Dad wouldn’t like that! (Unless they’re vegetarian, of course) It’s great when camping, hiking, or just as an afternoon snack.

  • A percolator coffee maker for sitting over the camp fire. Helps wake Dad up in the morning!
  • A nice new camping pad like the Teton Comfortlite XXL

  • Campside Chef pocket guide. This ia a great reference and has ideas for really good things to cook while camping.
  • A Monogrammed Steak Branding Iron – Dad might have a lot of cool stuff but I bet he doesn’t have a steak branding iron.
  • I saw this while browsing the Campmor catalog: Don’t die out there playing cards. It’s a functional deck of cards (we always bring a deck camping) that also has survival tips on each card. Cool idea!
  • A new headlamp. Great for finding stuff in a dark tent or using both hands while being able to see in the dark.
  • Does your Dad or Grandfather enjoy fishing? Have they tried fly fishing? How about a free Fly Fishing 101 Class at Orvis and an Orvis gift certificate to get them started fly fishing?
