Celebrate Arbor Day

Arbor Day is Friday April 26, 2013 (today!!). How will you celebrate Arbor Day? Will you get the kids involved? There are many fun activities to do with the kids so they can celebrate Arbor Day.

Here are five fun things to do with the kids on Arbor Day

  1. Read a book about local trees and then see what kind are in your yard
  2. Or, if you do not have any trees around, visit a local park
  3. Plant a tree
  4. Volunteer with a local outdoors club such as a Seirra Club
  5. Just get outdoors! Look around and enjoy what’s around you.
  6. Bonus: Google “your town arbor day” and see if there are any planned celebrations.

Did you know that Arbor Day is a state holiday in Nebraska? Schools and state office in Nebraska are closed on Arbor Day. I like that idea!

Do you live in Idaho? I found this Arbor Day guide from Idaho Forests (lucky!!)
