Kentucky state parks are have a free fishing weekend! Not free bait or anything, just no need to purchase a license. What a perfect time to take the kids out and have some cheap fun! Dig up some worms and get out there.
Also this weekend is free entrance to US National Parks that normally charge. Another great reason to get outside this weekend! Looks like the closest for me is Ohio or Indiana. No Kentucky parks listed.

Great idea! Montana also offers a free fishing day for everyone once a year. I am a big advocate of teaching folks to fish and run a fly fishing club at a middle school in Bozeman. Our outfitting company takes the kids fishing in june.
