Cool! Which app did you get? I see the backyard one is $4.99 but one was almost $30.00! I might do the $4.99 one but $30 is a little steep for me.

I’m with Thomas — this review makes me wish I had an iPhone instead of just the iTouch! Sounds like an inexpensive way to try geocaching — which I haven’t yet. Thanks for the review! BTW, I just bought my first app for the iTouch — iBird for identifying birds.

Great article. I haven’t tried geocaching yet, but I would really like to this year. I don’t have an iPhone, but I’m going to check and see if they make an app for Android, since I have a g1.

The iPhone comes with a map/built in GPS. This just quickly ties in the GPS into the geocaching.com list of caches. It’s good for getting started. I don’t know if the more expensive stand alone units are more accurate this one is only accurate to arounf 50 feet so once you get in the general area you have some looking to do.

It’s apps like this that make me wish I had an iPhone rather than just an iPod Touch. The Touch can handle a lot of apps but ones like this that use GPS are beyond it unfortunately. 10$ to convert a phone to a GPS device sounds like a bargain to me!
