Great Camping Idea For Lighting Lanterns

One of my earlier posts, Things to Take Camping, focuses on what families might need to pack up for a camping trip. I was reading the latest issue of Field and Stream magazine and found an interesting tip: use old radio antennas to hold a match to light your lantern. I always have trouble when I’m out camping trying to get my lantern to light. To fix this problem before you throw out that old radio cut the telescoping antenna off and crimp it around 3/4 of an inch down. That will allow the telescoping antenna to hold a lit match and safely be placed up in the lantern for easy lighting!
